Throughout his career, orthopedic and spinal surgeon Dr. Sebastian Lattuga has maintained involvement in a vast array of academic and professional endeavors. A longtime resident of the greater New York metropolitan region, Dr. Lattuga attended St. John’s University in Queens, earning his Bachelor of Science in Medicine in 1985. Following graduation, Dr. Sebastian Lattuga enrolled at the Stony Brook University School of Medicine on Long Island, where he completed a diverse range of classroom and clinical training over a four-year period. After graduating from Stony Brook in 1989, Dr. Lattuga began two years of postdoctoral training at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Manhattan, starting with a research fellowship and ending with an internship in general surgery. From there, Dr. Lattuga returned to Stony Brook University Medical Center for a four-year residency in orthopedic surgery, after which he entered into a fellowship in adult and pediatric spinal surgery and pain management at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center, an affiliate of the university’s Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine. Certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners in 1998, Dr. Sebastian Lattuga has since built his practice into one of the foremost of its type in the New York area.

As Chief of the Division of Spine Surgery at Franklin Hospital, a member of the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System, Dr. Sebastian Lattuga provides medical direction to the group and performs a range of nonsurgical and surgical procedures. In addition, Dr. Sebastian Lattuga has previously served as an Attending Spine Surgeon at the Day-Op Center of Long Island, Inc., and currently serves the Long Island Lizards, a Major League Lacrosse franchise, as the team’s spinal surgeon. Dr. Lattuga owns and operates New York Spinal Specialists, with four office locations in and around the New York City area. At New York Spinal Specialists, Dr. Lattuga performs all manner of minimally invasive and traditional surgical procedures to treat issues related to the spine, including herniated discs, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, fractures, and more.
